By 2028, 100 percent of the state’s high-growth, high-wage jobs will require education or training after high school. Yet, as of 2019, only 53 percent of working age Vermonters hold a postsecondary credential (apprenticeship, certificate, degree etc.)–well short of the state goal of 70 percent by 2025.

Advance Vermont is out to change that.

Founded in 2017, Advance Vermont unites business, education, government, non-profit, and philanthropy around a common goal to increase the attainment of post-high school credentials for the benefit Vermont’s civic and economic vitality.  Our work strives to grow the aspirations for and completion of credentials, increase equity in educational attainment, and strengthen connections between education, training, and employment.

This spring we launched, MyFutureVT, an innovative online one-stop for career and education resources.

We are a small and dynamic team looking to have an outsized impact on Vermont. Join us.


Advance Vermont is currently looking for a Communications and MyFutureVT Manager. We anticipate posting additional openings soon, so check back for all the details.

Advance Vermont is fully remote at this time and expects to move to a remote-heavy hybrid model this fall, with a full-time remote option in many cases. Some in-state and out-of-state travel may be required.

The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation is a core partner and provides office space in Winooski and operational support for Advance Vermont. Applicants will be applying through the VSAC hiring portal.

Communications and MyFutureVT Manager

Advance Vermont seeks an experienced and innovative communications professional to serve as its Communications and MyFutureVT Manager. This role is an important part of a small and dynamic team, with responsibility over many of the public facing aspects of the organization. It is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in helping drive the conversation about education and workforce in Vermont.

The Communications and MyFutureVT Manager will lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of Advance Vermont’s communications and marketing efforts geared toward raising awareness of the importance of post high school education and training, and the diversity of pathways and supports. This work includes driving the continued development and refinement of MyFutureVT.org, Advance Vermont’s newly launched free online one-stop for career and education resources in Vermont.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills and demonstrated experience planning and executing marketing efforts. Additionally, the candidate will be skilled at website management, including content creation and day-to-day site maintenance.
